Valarie Morris has the Certificate in Managing the Development of Technical Information from the University of California (UC) Santa Cruz Extension in Silicon Valley. The UC certificate program provides state-of-the-art information to technical communication professionals. She also has a Six Sigma Green Belt certificate and a Project Management certificate.

Valarie Morris applies principles of Six Sigma and Lean in her work. She also draws from her ISO 9000, other quality, and system analysis experiences along with her learnings as a member of various professional associations.

As a member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC), Ms. Morris served as document expert, judge, and multimedia project manager for STC competitions in Washington, D.C. and in California. In New Mexico, Ms. Morris was on the grant proposal evaluation team for the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation.

Education

Valarie Morris designed and taught the technical communication course in the Interdisciplinary Computer Science graduate program at Mills College. In prior years, she received her M.A. in Music Composition from Mills College and created Sandscape Publications, her music publishing company. Later she created SandscapeShop.com.

Ms. Morris also has an M.S. in Agriculture with a minor in chemistry and a teaching credential.
